Ralph Nader, the longtime consumer advocate who was blamed by many Democrats for Al Gore’s loss in the 2000 presidential election, launched an exploratory committee Wednesday for another White House bid, and told CNN he is likely to get in the race if he can put the resources in place.
"John Edwards, the banner of Democratic Party populism, is dropping out, and Dennis Kucinich dropped out earlier, so in terms of voters who are at least interested in having major areas of injustice, deprivations, and solutions discussed in a presidential campaign, they might be interested in my exploratory effort," Nader said.
Nope. Never again, Ralph. Never again.

Ah, Saint Ralph rides in on
Ah, Saint Ralph rides in on his White Horse's Ass. In food co-ops and bike lending libraries around the land, there was much drinking of red bush tea.

Maybe he will run as right
Maybe he will run as right wing evangelical conservative pro-war candidate, and take votes away from McCain and/or Romney. YEAH! I WISH.
just exactly how many
right wing evangelical conservatives do you think are jumping at the bit to vote for McCain ?

I wish...
...he wasn't such a fucking nut. He has the populism thing down, he just always has to go off half cocked about everything. I always get the impression that he feels that punishment for not wearing a seat belt should be death.
Now, I do love the Green Party. As of today, more than I do the Democratic party. But Nader is a waste of time. I would love to see Kucinich, Gravel and Ron Paul all join the Greens. Elections would really be a hoot then. ;)
With Edwards and Kucinich gone, at least now I'm free to vote my conscience if I choose. And if the Greens can come up with a non-loony candidate, I'll surely consider voting third.
Right now, I very reluctantly support Barack Obama. At least he doesn't have the lengthly slime trail Hillary does.
Yeah, this is what my vote has deteriorated into.
:(
To slime or not to slime, that is the question.
Not to slime is always the answer.
"The mind is like a parachute, it only works when it's open."
here we go again indeed
Once again, Nader, the candidate that should be pushing the agenda for all rational people, is relegated to the loony bin. It's such a crime to actually discuss real issues(snark.)
We know George Bush stole the election, yet we're going to once again blame it on Nader. We're not going to stand up and be angry that our democrats are leaning as far to the right as they possibly can to pander to the majority of people. Nope, not gonna bother.
Who cares that we've let the media determine who we'll vote for? Who cares that a bunch of nut jobs have all the real power? Let's just blame the guy that makes sense for all our problems.
Nader did not effect the election nearly as much as Gore did when he pussed out and didn't fight for right.
The pitch last time around
The pitch last time around was that there was no difference between the two candidates/parties, so it didn't matter which one got in. That turned out to be very, very wrong. There has to be a better way to push a progressive agenda than nudging a Republican into the White House.

you didnt like it when i said..im not interested in getting people that do not share my opinions to the polls..calling the post "anti-democratic & exclusionary...unconscionable"
Fact is,I'm not going to work to get folks to the polls that oppose candidates I support.
You disagree & thats fair.
I believe,if same day voter registration were universal & was coupled with voting centers...operating like Knox County's early voting locations.
The increase in voter turn out would be dramatic.
But I dont understand your flip post about stealing elections in Fla..when talking about important reform that would indeed make voting less exclusionary.
