WUOT is doing an election feature, and they're looking for local hangouts where people discuss politics:
Where do you get together with friends to talk politics, especially local politics? WUOT-FM is looking for those places in Knox County where the lively discussion of politics is a consistent and unavoidable part of the scenery. Maybe it’s that neighborhood diner where you eat breakfast or lunch. It could be the local pub or coffee shop. Maybe it’s a particular park bench. We don’t care. We’re simply looking for a place that just seems to attract people who are outspoken and passionate about their politics. Please send your suggestions to News Director Matt Shafer Powell at matt.shafer.powell@wuot.org. Please include a phone number or email address where you can be reached.
The feature is scheduled (tentatively) to air on WUOT-FM 91.9, Monday Feb. 4th at 6:50AM, 8:50AM and 4:50PM, so get your tips to Matt as soon as you can. Also be sure to tune in, and you might hear some excerpts of an interview with some local Bubba rambling on about blogs.

You're picking up steam
I like the discussion here.
There is good discourse here. All kinds of it.
There are many good minds here as well.
Look at it this way, you got Talidapali and your's truly away from The Randi Rhodes Message Board. Not many blogs or boards can boast getting Rhodies as regulars. I was official Resident Asshole at RRMB for four years. Still am I guess, haven't been back there in a while. :)
That puts KnoxViews in league with Democratic Warrior, Democratic Underground, Cannabis Cove, and one or two others.
Sorry for the conceit, but we always were kinda full of ourselves at RRMB. And for good reason :P
Make sure you keep the server updated, the traffic will only increase and will reflect the interest we are capable of generating.

I think the old Repubs hang at Wright's Cafeteria and worse than any bar, is to go to any coffee house and listen to a 20 year old hopped up on Espresso figure it all out.

You know, I heard Paul Pinkston & Larry Clark say this is where all the political talk is in south Knoxville, but I engage in a lot of it and I've never even BEEN in that Bi-Lo.
