This morning, I set out for my long-standing Saturday morning ritual of breakfast at Italian Market and Grill. I arrived to find a perfunctory sign on the door stating they've gone out of business.
I'll miss that place. They had the best biscuits & gravy in town.
I posted more about it here.
Anybody have the scoop on what happened?

Interesting. I saw about a
Interesting. I saw about a month ago that they got a really low score from the Health Dept (it was on Don Dare's thing on WATE). Sounds like they might have been having problems for awhile.
I hadn't heard about any
I hadn't heard about any recent negative scores, but they scored a 99 a few months back.
I am morbidly unhappy over this closing.

Not "morbidly"...Oh gosh!
No omelette is worth that.
I know you think there was only one for you but that's wrong!
There are others out there and I'm certain that eventually you'll find the right one. Maybe not today...maybe not tomorrow...but sometime, somewhere you'll be sitting there and it will appear before you. Perfect texture, egg and filling cooked seperately and then blended so that each is cooked to the perfect finish, and the gravy...flour not cornstarch...freshly ground white pepper, not a canned powder..
(wow...I'm suddenly hungry...can't finish this right now, maybe later...right now I feel an overwhelming need to go peel a garlic)
Thanks for your uplifting
Thanks for your uplifting words of encouragement, Steve. You've helped me reach at least the fourth stage of grief.

urrpp...'Scuse me,
I'm here for you, Brother...
My son and I went to the
My son and I went to the Chophouse last night and while driving by the Italian Market, noticed the parking lot was empty. I had a feeling they were closed down, that was a very nice place to eat with a varied menu. A couple of weeks ago, we had noticed a full parking lot and they seemed to be doing well.
I wonder what happened as well. It would be nice to see it back open as it was so different from all the other franchise restaurants.
Catinella's?
Anybody know what happened to Catinella's Bistro and Bakery on Middlebrook? I heard it closed too.
Catinella's renovating?
I'd heard they were closed for renovations, but you know how that can go.
poor Russ
Sigh. If only Russ's many Twitters had brought Italian Market more customers.
I tried in vain
I tried, Cathy. Lord knows I tried.

As someone else pointed out
As someone else pointed out to me, wonder if IMG was not another "victim" of Turkey Creek?
The last time I was in
The last time I was in Mimi's the service was slow also but the food was excellent. I love their eggs benedict.
I'm guessing that
I'm guessing that Catinella's is closed for good. There's a "for lease" sign on the window.
We liked Cantinella's, but
We liked Cantinella's, but it's been clear in recent years that it needed some attention. Some new furniture would have been nice. Wonder if the new nearby Aubrey's sealed its future.
