WNBC posted a list of players from the due out Mitchell Report, Raw Story copied the list from WNBC, then WNBC pulled the list down. If true, it looks really bad for major league baseball.

Clemens, Sosa, Canseco, McGwire, Dykstra, Giambi. wow.

shocked. shocked, i tell you. more here.

quote of the day: "It's going to be a rough day in the Bronx," the paper quoted the source as saying.

Looks like the last Iowa debate will be overshadowed unless it features some real fireworks.

The very first name on the list...

Well, it appears we finally have an explanation for Brady Anderson going from 16 homers in '95 to 50 in '96. That always seemed just a tad suspicious.

Leaked list was wrong.

WNBC's leaked list was wrong about Brady Anderson... he wasn't mentioned in the report. I feel kind of bad for doubting him now.

New list. You can download the entire report from the smoking gun.

Taken in by the first list, too

... although, to be fair, I forwarded it with a disclaimer. As with most disclaimers, though, people missed it. WNBC's got some 'splainin' to do.

The first, bad list had a lot of Red Sox on it. The real list is tilted more toward New York. This is probably the result of source bias from the Yankee and Mets trainers.

Still, Justin, this member of Red Sox nation loves to hear a Yankees fan say "eat it, Boston." It's great to finally have the shoe on the other foot.

metulj, I gotta agree with you about the Damon shovel chin even though he's not in the report.

Liberty and justice for all.
