NY Times just shredded Giuliani on the front page.
All of these statements are incomplete, exaggerated or just plain wrong. And while, to be sure, all candidates use misleading statistics from time to time, Mr. Giuliani has made statistics a central part of his candidacy as he campaigns on his record.
Super bonus, Alan Keyes group just called him slippery and crooked, then compared him to...wait for it...Bill Clinton.
Oh, and (the indicted) Bernie Kerik is rushing to his defense over his misappropriation of funds to fund his "travels" to the Hamptons.

I like this quote from that article...
“When he talks about New York, people see it,” Mr. Luntz said of Mr. Giuliani, “and they feel it, and if a number isn’t quite right, or is off by a small amount, nobody will care, because it rings true to them.”
In other words they are admitting that they're seeking to influence voters through emotional ploys rather than giving them honest facts? They are trying to say that voters don't really care about truth and facts that much. How insulting!
So, who fills the void?
So, who fills the void? Where do Giuliani voters go?
An email I got this morning said Rasmussen tracking had Mike Huckabee in the lead in Iowa, but no specifics on methodology, number of undecideds or margin of error. Can Romney capture disenchanted Rudy voters? How about Fred, maybe he gets a bump.
My guess is it's a close race among 3 or 4 in the GOP race in Iowa, which will make those next up on the calender more important to establish a couple of leaders and cause some also-rans to quit.
It seems on the Dem side, Obama (with Oprah) and Hillary (with Bubba) are going to finish close in Iowa, with Hil getting a slight edge. Same story here, it makes subsequent states more important and some also-rans will bow out. I would think Clinton has a better organization in these other states, but Obama will get a boost simply by making it close (his pitch, 'see, I can win').
good questions, Chad. Time
good questions, Chad. Time to pop popcorn and just watch the fray.
One of the most fractured primary seasons in a long time. Quite different from Robert Dole's heir-apparent status in 1996. Does anyone remember and GOP candidates other than McCain who ran against Bush in the primary in 2000? Alexander was in, but out in 1999 after a weak Iowa straw poll. The rest of the list...wow. who knew? I had forgotten about Ashcroft and Liddy Dole.
So?
The Times regularly shredded the guy when he was Mayor .. doubt he'll lose much sleep. In fact, having them yowl about him every week or so might be a good campaign move.
Why is no one calling Presidential Candidate Giuliani on his lie
It is disgusting that mainstream media elites continue to let the big lie go unchallenged. Why is no one calling Presidential Candidate Giuliani on his lie? see video:

Regardless of what polls are saying...
I think that Guiliani's gun control beliefs will damage him in South Carolina, and in the rest of the South, far more than his campaign or the national media is anticipating.
Having family and friends in South Carolina, I know that a lot see Guiliani as a male Hillary, and rather than hold their noses, cover their mouths, and close their eyes, they're likely not to turn out for Guiliani in the general.
I think Guiliani is already finished..
Voters just haven't quite decided what to do now that their shining star has turned out to be a tin weasel. No one in their right mind would want Guiliani to lead this county once they know his history. They were just dazzled by his 9-11 glory days. It all looked so good on TV, but now even the firefighters and 9-11 families are making ads that blame him for so many deaths. Then there's Kerick...and the Mayor's eagerness to slip into women's clothing (which wouldn't be so bad if he didn't want to get the radical Christians on his side). Guiliani is corrupt, mean, and totally insensitive. The only trick now for conservatives is to pick another winner out of a field of broken down horses. It's still a long way to election time. It will either have to be Huckabee or McCain because all the others are hopelessly ineffectual or bizarre.
It will either have to be
It will either have to be Huckabee or McCain because all the others are hopelessly ineffectual or bizarre.
Don't you mean "are even more hopelessly bizarre"?
McCain totally supported the Iraq war and simply won't recover from being Bush's boy.
Huckabee seems to spend more on hair grease than even the mythical $400 haircut.
I think the weirdest aspect of the republican debates was the haircare on display. Did Romney have sparkles?
