This is BIG, BIG, BIG and
This is BIG, BIG, BIG and will probably go nowhere.
The out and out lies they told about the war have also been documented in a new book called "Curveball".
In another era it might be enough for impeachment.
You are correct..
no one is going to do anything other than huff and puff. The White House will deny, obfuscate, misdirect and attack the messengers. The Republicans will express their doubt, wait for an investigation to comment and campaign w/o the Prez. The Democrats will wave their arms, cry foul, threaten to not fund something (threaten, not actually do it)and be amazed when nothing happens. The American people will watch Survivor or American Idol or whatever is big this year and by February the only ones who care will be on the campaign trail. Outcome: in six or eight months it will be another footnote in history with no outcome.
Enter that one in the Bush Hall of Shame
I think they ought to build a memorial called the Bush Hall of Shame where all the unpunished scandals and crimes can be truly honored.
The lies about the war...
The obvious plan to invade while saying he was not...
The plot to out Plame...
The backing of Gonzalez even after everyone knew..
The promises to Katrina survivors...
The permission to use torture..
RENDITION...
Neglect of our returning veterans
etc, etc, etc, ad nauseum...
I agree that this a BIG
I agree that this a BIG story, however, it only confirms what most people thought at the time. This story is so BIG, look where the KNS reported it in todays paper.
Call Duncan's Office and Demand Impeachment. 523-3772
Everyone in Duncan's district should call Duncan's office and demand impeachment. In Knoxville, phone: (865) 523-3772.
Remind Duncan that the votes can replaced him next November by someone who will vote for impeachment.
The new house and senate of January 2009 will take office before Bush / Cheney leave office. Congress can be impeach them and prohibited them from holding office again.
Our nation must take this step towards justice.
We must do so if we are to prove that our constitution works.
The relevant section:
Judgement in cases of impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any office of honor, trust or profit under the United States: but the party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to indictment, trial, judgement, and punishment, according to law.
Forrest Erickson
Call Duncan's Office
People will try ANYTHING to MAKE Mr. Cheney the New President!
Happiness is wanting what you have!
Rep. Duncan's response to impeachment plea
In response to my phone call and a email I wrote, I got a nice letter from Rep. Duncan today. He said he'd heard from several constituents on this issue. "I have disagreed with the President on some things, but I do not believe he or anyone else has commited an impeachable offense."
He then points to the Democrats who agree with him including Nancy Pelosi. "Even though the House is now controlled by liberal Democrats, there is almost no support for impeachment on this position."
Sadly, I think he's right. Not enough voters and not enough congressional representatives think they can make a strong enough case to impeach Cheney or Bush. I disagree with that. I'd at least like to see them make some effort. Certainly the Plame incident would be a good place to start. They do after all have Bush's promise to fire anyone involved in the criminal leaking of this case. Why not himself?

People will try ANYTHING to
People will try ANYTHING to MAKE Mr. Cheney the New President!
I am convinced that Mr. Cheney has been the de facto President since 2001. These people didn't get their name out of a box of Cracker Jacks.
A comment by Mary Sanchez on yesterday's (22 Nov) Cagle Post seems to sum up the Bush & Co. mantra:
First, do nothing useful.

It could be a lot worse...
if we had the military Bush would probably attack Iran before he left office..He won't because we don't have the troops to invade.
His recent mention of WW3 reminded me of this old videogame from my misspent days...
(link...)
War never changes..That's why we need Bush out of office and we need a democrat in the Whitehouse to make sure this doesn't happen.
