In case you have not seen it, News Channel 5 in Nashville seems to do some interesting investigations. Their proximity to state government affords them some convenient access.

A look into home health care!

To whom it may concern:

We are a privately owned company that is being ruined by the state of Tennessee. We provide home care to elderly and handy capped people who do not want or have the income for a nursing home. We send them the bills and they ignore them and pay what they feel like. PLease put this word out to make the public and the families of these people aware of what is going on. We can not provide good care to these individuals if we can not pay the care givers who are there with them. The state of tennessee seems to think they can do what ever they want. This is unexceptable. We need to get this word out. PLease respond to the provided e-mail. Thank you.

Allan, You'd be a bit more

Allan,

You'd be a bit more credible if you spelled handicapped correctly.

Also, who is ignoring the bills -- the state or your clients?

And, Tennessee is generally capitalized.

Illigal workers at Elletrolux

As of December 14th Eletrolux brought into their office any one that they suspected as being illigal immigrants. Those without any documents were out right fired. Those with doucuments that were questionable were asked if they were false. Anyone who answered that they were false were fired for lying on there application. There were a lot of people that were terminated on that day. They have now cancelled people's time off for the holidays. They are working over time, and they have cut down production levels for the remainder of the year. Though you should know. Thank you.

I smell B.S. A company like

I smell B.S.

A company like Electrolux is certain to require that an I-9 be filled out as a precondition of employment.

Trash and Recycle Bins

We are a family of eight living in the greater Nashville area. We have lived in the area for three years now, and we have been battling the issue of getting an additional trash can and recycle bin for over a year now. We have talked to the Public Works Department, and we have called the Mayors office. Neither have been of any help to us. This morning was the icing on the cake for us. Christmas was three days ago, so we have at least three trash cans of trash. We put the trash out this morning. We only have one trash can, so we put the additional trash in a big box and the recycle bin. The trash truck only picked-up the original trash can, leaving the box and recycle bin there for me to hold on to for another week, which means that I will have just as much trash next week. I called public works again this morning and the lady told me I would have to purchase additional trash cans and recycle bins for $45.00 each. She said this was something decided on by the Public Works and Metro Council and went into effect on July 1, 2007. My point is, I have been trying to get an additional trash can and recycle bin for well over a year now with no success. I drive Smith Springs Road on a daily basis and pass by a site there where there are hundreds of trash cans and recycle bins that are stacked as high as the building there. I feel that I should not have to pay additional money for something that my tax dollars already pay for. I also believe this is a slap in the face from those that I help put into office. I feel that my wife and I pay enough taxes and the trash cans should not be an additonal charge to me or anyone else that pay their taxes faithfully. There are other homes in my neighborhood with far less family members and more trash cans. What do you think?

I KNOW...

They asked for background info on all state employees including home addresses...
I did tell the state that law enforcment and state regulatory people should have some info withheld to protect them..but I kinda got the brushoff for suggesting that. The station told the state they wouldn't release/disclose the info.Still I think it is a bad idea for that info to be out there where someone might use it to harm someone.
