Ah, the plot thickens! This kind of news is certainly not going to help the Guiliani campaign. Is Faux News finally going to be exposed for serious wrong-doing? Judith Regan just filed this suit.

"The fiery editrix came out swinging in a 70-page suit, alleging that a News Corp. executive asked her to withhold damaging information about disgraced former Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik that could sabotage Giuliani's campaign.

Kerik, a former Regan client who also carried on an extramarital affair with her, was indicted last week on federal corruption charges. But according to the suit filed in Manhattan Supreme Court, a NewsCorp. higher-up advised Regan not to give up any "relevant documents" that could aid the government's investigation into Kerik." 'News' from the gossip

'News' from the gossip column. Simpson book author Regan has credibility issues. I'm sure she's disappointed she didn't make millions putting out Simpson's Faux confession. I'd keep my powder dry on this one and wait to see how the suit turns out.

I agree she is sleazy, but hey the facts will remain

Since corporate media has taken over most of the news, you sometimes have to look down deep into the bottom of the pond to catch a ripple that could prove to be the beginning of a real fight to get the truth out. In this case Regan does have an axe to grind, but also could have insider info that might help shed more light on Guiliani's lack 0f character and lack of judgement. A dangerous combination of traits for any presidential candidate.

I always reserve final judgement when questionable characters are involved, but this duo--Guiliani/Kerik--both like to try on the sheep's clothing while licking their lips at the thought of holding power over their flock.

damn, she gets around, is she the same judith that shacked up in the nyc mayors mansion with Guiliani and later married him or is she another nyc judith? Must be the name Judith that attracts these married men. Men Beware of Judith.

Nope

Guiliani and his now wife lived elsewhere while his estranged wife and children lived in Gracie Mansion.

Judith Regan had illish trysts with Kerik.

Toby, I couldn't care less about Guiliani right now. I questioned the source of the story. Given you refer to her as scum, it seems we agree.

Yep...That's the only one.

Yep...That's the only one. But CBT can take heart. Ron Paul is really a Libertarian, not a Republican.

Ron Paul may be nuts...But by golly he tells the truth, for the most part. (I think that's why the other Republicans don't like to let him join in any republican games)

Another confession

I was a political reporter in Arkansas in the 1980's. I remember once asking Clinton's press secretary about the White Water investment loss on Clinton's financial disclosure form. "It's some land deal he and Hillary lost money on. The governor doesn't like to talk about it."

I never dug further, and there were times later on when I questioned that decision. But mostly I've been very much at peace with it.

These sorts of questions apply equally to Democrats. If you're in the public eye, some members of the public will always have questions. Geez, some people even question Billy Graham. Voters have to decide what questions they can tolerate, specifically when balanced against positive aspects of a candidate. I'm sure many Democrats will hold their nose and overlook Hillary Clinton's past scandals in voting for her in the upcoming primaries.

While I'm a Republican, I don't see Republicans as always wearing the white hat. Too many Democrats, including some who post regularly on this blog, come accross with the attitude that Democrats are pure, virtuous and always out for what's best. Obviously, that's not true. People need to line up behind candidates who have ideas, goals and personal traits which most closely match theirs.

See...

Couldn't name one, could you?

Shorter CBT: "Look! over there...a Democrat! Billy Graham! God!"

And then there was this:

People need to line up behind candidates who have ideas, goals and personal traits which most closely match theirs.

Really?

Get in the "right" line

People need to line up behind candidates who have ideas, goals and personal traits which most closely match theirs.

Well, I guess that eliminates half the US voters. Thank your lucky stars you were born a white male, CBT! I long for the days when "people" "lined up behind" candidates who we thought would promote the greater good, not who would be the best at appealing to the greediest at the common good's expense.

By the time that the GOP convention rolls around, you will.

Geez, some people even question Billy Graham.

Remember when Billy Graham joined the rest of the television God Squad and declared that AIDS was a gift from God to rid the world of some undesirables? Then he backed off and said that he had only had a brain fart, he didn't really feel that way.

I have a friend who fell out with him when he told some kid via his newspaper column that no, his little dog wouldn't be waiting for him in heaven because pets don't go to heaven. True or not, why stick a boot in a kid's face over it.

Then there's the infamous Nixon 'prayer meeting' at Neyland Temple.

Aha! Remember the ferret incident?

Sometimes Guiliani talks totally crazy. I don't mean losse-lipped or glib either. He not only says things like this that reflect a very mean personality, but he also makes atatements that have no basis in reality. I almost fell off my sofa when I heard him on that radio talk show ranting to a ferret owner about how "sick he was" and that he sould "seek help immediately", just because he wanted to have ferret pets. The way he was going on and on it was clear even a ferret would have been capable of better reasoning. I think Guiliani has blinders on. He sees what he wants to see, thinks what he wants to think, and acts any damn way he pleases. His charisma is apparent and at times dazzling, but it doesn't take much probing to see this guy is a real ding-a-ling.

Graham

For evangelicals Graham is cool. He had Bill and Hillary onstage with him in NY a few years ago. But I think people question his friendship with Nixon.
