Emporium Holiday Extravaganza in Downtown Knoxville

The Arts & Culture Alliance is pleased to
sponsor the fourth annual Emporium Holiday Extravaganza on December 7
and 8: a two-day celebration featuring handmade gifts, live
performances, and holiday cheer in downtown Knoxville! The hours for
the Extravaganza are Friday, December 7, 11am-9pm and Saturday,
December 8, 10am-5pm. Admission and parking are FREE.

Shop for unique holiday gift items from local artists and museum gift
shops, including:
* Booder Barnes of Knoxville - small ceramic animal figures
* Hallah John Paul Boltik of Knoxville - original fine art of varying
sizes, original painted ornaments
* Karen Briggs of Corryton - wheel thrown and hand built pottery,
garden and functional
* Cadman & Cummins Studios of New Market - small sculptures, home
accessories, gift items, handcrafted pens, and yard ornaments
* Cindy Day of Knoxville - watercolor prints and originals of nature
and wildlife
* Janet Edkins of Knoxville - Japanese ink paintings and prints, hand-
painted glassware and ceramics in sumie style

The Alliance invites the public and downtown workers to anticipate the
WIVK Santa Claus Parade by browsing the merchandise of artists on
Friday, December 7, beginning at 11am, with traditional and
contemporary folk songs by Liz McGeachy and Tim Marema of Norris. The
Extravaganza continues until 9pm as part of "First Friday" downtown
with live entertainment by a string quartet of the Knoxville Symphony
Orchestra, sweet treats, and warm drinks. On Saturday, December 8,
from 10am-5pm, the Emporium Center again hosts a variety of festive
activities including music by the Mountain Breeze Quartet.
