A bird moment in Krutch Park

Submitted by Carole Borges on Mon, 2007/10/22 - 8:59am.

Last night when I was walking through Krutch Park, I was thrilled to hear a symphony of birdsongs coming from the big trees.

It seemed odd to hear that many birds singing after dark, and so many of them! For a minute, I thought it was some kind of tape playing to entertain tourists, like the bird sounds you hear in one of those fake "farms" in a museum, but then I realized they were real.

I figured the birds must be gathering there because of the lack of water everywhere else. The stream runnng through the park is lovely at any time, but with the birds trilling so joyously, it really made me appreciate it more. I'm not sure what kind of birds they were, but they sure were singing pretty.
