Opry on satellite

WSM and the Opry used to be on SIRIUS Satellite Radio until last year. When it came time to renew the contract, the folks at Gaylord wanted more money than SIRIUS was willing to fork over and the channel was dropped.

XM is now picking it up, which is good. The irony is, if the XM/SIRIUS merger goes through (the buzz is it'll happen in the next month or so), the Opry will again be available to SIRIUS subscribers.
