"Law and order" is one of those perennial campaign slogans.
It's also a trademark of a long-running series on NBC, featuring Fred Thompson as New York District Attorney Arthur Branch for the last few years.
No one would deign to use Thompson's fictional pose in a serious capacity, would they?
Of course they would.

You have got to be
You have got to be shitting me. What's wrong with these people? Other than being completely divorced from reality, so to speak.
Say, was that Bill Hobbs' bus? Maybe the TN GOP "communications" director job pays better than I thought. Or his gig as Thompson biographer.
Or maybe it's a Haslam funded bio-fueled endeavor?

Then that's pathetic. I can't believe he would use his TV show to legitimize his candidacy.
Adrift in the Sea of Humility
Trademark infringement
I wonder if NBC could make a case that this is trademark infringement? One of the standards for infringement is "likelihood of confusion;" I would think that the pairing of his image with the phrase "Law & Order" would be right up some corporate IP lawyer's alley.
That'd be pretty hilarious.

Which role?
For which role is Thompson more deserving of an Emmy? His work in "Law and Order" or his work on the campaign trail?
Brian A.
I'd rather be cycling.
Slogans
I don't as much fault his campaign for doing that as I fault voters who get sucked into image/persona candidacies. Of course we're talking about the same base who thinks the "War on Terror" is like a TV "24" episode, so it goes with the territory.

Looks like it may belong to Steve Gill, Nashville's perennial-loser-Republican-candidate-cum-talk-radio-jock-slash-WKRN-bobblehead.

Right Said Fred
Anyone out there with photoshop skills? Every time Fred is mentioned I get this hilarious vision of Big Fred's head attached to the Right Said Fred guy in that "I'm too sexy" video from a decade ago. I can hear Fred singing, "I'm too sexy for my party, I'm too sexy for debate, I'm so sexy it huuurts" and on and on. If only I had the skills for U-tube....
