Determine and list "the 36 nations who have troops on the ground in Iraq."

Joe P.'s picture

i count only

25 nations, including the U.S. However the numbers game on this is more than a bit confusing.

TPM has more info on this.

Mostly tiny nations

Hoping for some kind of return on their miniscule show of loyalty--like admission into the UN?

From the above link

Albania
Armenia
Austrailia
Azerbaijan
Bosnia and Herzegovina
Bulgaria
Czech Republic
Denmark
El Salvador
Estonia
Georgia
Japan
Kazakhstan
South Korea
Latvia
Lithuania
Macedonia
Moldova
Mongolia
Poland
Romania
Singapore
Slovakia
Ukraine
United Kingdom

Nations they are counting even though they don't meet the definition:

Italy
Netherlands
Iceland
Slovenia
Turkey
Portugal
Fiji

Who are the remaining mystery countries? Could one be Andorra? Those Andorrans are a stealthy lot. How about Liechtenstein? I hear Liechtensteiners are big fans of freedom.

Reveal yourself, mystery troops.

If Iraq was a Baseball game....

...those other countries would be the peanut vendors.

Aside from that, rainy days are indeed special. I'm going out to smoke a doobie and watch it fall right now.

Has anybody got a breakdown

Has anybody got a breakdown of troops being provided by these so called allies? I'd like to know the number and types of troops each has deployed to Iraq.

Where the Heck is Alabama? We're talking about our Freedoms here...Which the insurgents hate, doncha know!

And South Carolina and Mississississippi?

Rainy days and/or Mondays

My cats have discovered a better rainy-day activity than this. They're ripping the legs off a cricket.

I'm sure there's a metaphor for the Bush administration's adventures in Iraq there somewhere, but I don't want to think about it right now.

Looking at the globalsecurity link (above)

It occurs to me that conditions in Iraq really started going downhill when Tonga pulled its troops out. Who could have ever foreseen that momentous turn of events?

Wasn't Morocco going to provide us with some mine-seeking monkeys at one time as part of the war effort?

Damn you, Iceland. Damn you to hell!

...whose "contingent" to Iraq consists of a single soldier in Baghdad whose primary responsibility is as a media representative. To NATO's disappointment, Iceland is pulling that one soldier as of October 1.
