It looks like lingering questions about Baptist Hospital are answered.

Hmmm, Baptists and Catholics hooking up. Speaking from personal experience with the nominally Catholic Mrs., Baptists usually get the better end of that deal.

Better end of the deal

Baptists usually get the better end of that deal.

That may be true in the SKB household, but in general, Catholics don't have to shield their faces when they walk into the liquor store.

Yeah, I'm thinking he means

Yeah, I'm thinking he means Catholics bring more to the table, thus Baptists benefiting more from what the Catholics have to give.

I hope this works out for both parties. When I first heard, I felt quite proud of the St. Mary's crew. Baptist is an institution in Knoxville. I want them to succeed. I just don't want them to drag down another institution in Knoxville.

From David McCullough's The

From David McCullough's The Johnstown Flood:

Over 200 survivors had sought refuge in the attic of Alma Hall, the new assembly building of the Odd Fellows. The building was spared because the brunt of the oncoming wave was deflected by the massive stone Methodist Church just across the street.

One tale to come out of Alma Hall later on told of a voice in the dark saying,

"We've been saved by the Methodist Church,"

whereupon another voice answered back,

"Only the Catholic Church can save!"

Of course in Nashville

the St Thomas Health System bought the Baptist Hospital there.I guess it has become a trend.
Baptist is a corrupt organization as far as the way it treats its empoyees. I know that from personal experience. So I shed no tears for them.I don't see how this solves their problems.Deborah London needs to fire several of the current managers there.I assume there will be layoffs, it's an absolute absurdity that this merger will create more jobs as claimed on WATE.There have to be layoffs and consolidation of departments to save money and to satisfy Moody and the bond raters so those Baptist bonds will be worth somethinbg other than the junk bonds they are currently rated.
People working there had adequate warning.

Yes, I would think so. Baptist has been an important part of Knoxville and I hope it all works out for as many as possible.
