He says it's money, not his health but it all seems kind of weird.

He looks awful...poor Tony Snow

His politics are probably 360 degrees from mine, but I sure feel sorry for the guy. The last press conference I saw he was terribly gaunt. I saw someone interviewing him last week. It was a killer sad show. It's always very touching when you see a grown man crying because he is so full of love for someone.

Just a rough estimate, how

Just a rough estimate, how many people do you figure have died because Tony Snow applied his considerable talent to propagating the administration's obfuscations and downright lies about the occupation of Iraq? Sure, he's a minor player and hasn't been there that long, but that's a small share of a really big number. Lots of kids too. Enough blood to drown in anyway.

I'm just not in the mood to cut him any slack.

If Snow is running out of money because of medical expenses, that's really kind of ironic, no?

Federal employees get to pick from a variety of plans, all funded by the govt., of course, but maybe Tony made the wrong "choice" and picked an HMO.

This thought did occur to me too , Virgil

That would be grimly ironic.

I read that Snow took a pay

I read that Snow took a pay cut in order to accept the job of trying to snow the public (sorry, I couldn't resist). He says he needs more money now because of upcoming college costs for his children.

He knew of these expenses when he quit Faux News but apparently was such a zealous Bush fan that he decided to join them anyway. Maybe he expected more fringe benefits that didn't materialize after the new Congress started poking its nose into the White House's business.

Or maybe he saw the sausage

Or maybe he saw the sausage being made and found out what a deluded idiot he's been all these years.

health and money

I have to agree with Carole. He looks bad, and he clearly thought he was cured before. I feel for him because I was forced to watch an extended family member die from metastisized colon cancer. It was not pretty, not at all.

As for the money, I think I remember him saying that the pay cut was huge and that he would have to look at things closely as time went by because of his kids. My guess is that with the cancer having returned, he decided that now was better than never.

At any rate, the Bush house keeps loosing it's props, so who knows how it will continue to stand the next 17 months.
