On the heels of President Karzi's visit to Washington, where he openly stated he was coming to talk to Bush about his concern over civilian casualties, the British have now become more emboldened to speak out. From their perspective American troops are causing problems that are hampering the Brits efforts to "kick-start" reconstruction efforts..

Is this the compassion for children Bush & his wife brag about? Whatever happened to winning the hearts and minds of the people?

"On a rare visit to Helmand in mid-July, a journalist encountered children who were still suffering wounds sustained in that bombing raid or another around that time. Their father, Mohammadullah, brought them to the gate of the British Army base seeking help.

He said that he opposed the Taliban, but that after the bombing raid the villagers were so angered that most of the men who survived went off to join the insurgents."
