Nuclear power is fine with me
It's clean, it's cost-effective and most of all it's safe. What's not to love? I'd rather have 10 nuclear plants around me compared to a single coal plant...
Now if we can only get the government to live up to its end of the bargain when it comes to spent fuel...
Pros and cons
In a nutshell, it's plentiful, "clean" (compared to coal) energy versus safety and cost concerns.
The latter are very real (e.g., the waste), but on balance I'll opt for the hypothetical risks over the proven ones. A lot more people die from air pollution than from nuclear mishaps.
There's a pretty good discussion of nuclear energy here
Brian A.
I'd rather be cycling.
I can't agree with anything Nuclear.
Though heightened production may be beneficial since the plant is already there, I personally don't approve of anything nuclear so I must vote no.
