WhitesCreek Steve brings our attention to HR1506, the Markey-Platts bill that would increase average fuel efficiency standards to 35MPG in ten years. That sounds almost too reasonable, and there's no good reason why it can't be done.

With current technology we could reduce oil demand by over 40% if we wanted to.
