If you attached buttered toast to the cat's feet, butter side up, then you would have a perpetual motion machine/generator. The toast would want to land butter side down but flipping upside down would have the effect of flipping the cat upside down and the cat always wants to land on it's feet so it would flip upright but then the butter ... . Well, you get the gist of it.
