Got an e-mail from the Harold Ford Jr. whatever-it-is-these-days organization. It reads in its entirety: Tune into Fox News TONIGHT at 9:00 pm EST/8:00 pm CST to watch Harold Ford, Jr. on "Hannity and Colmes."
Still trying to figure out exactly why I'd want to do that. Think I'll wait for Crooks & Liars or Media Matters to post if there's anything, actually, you know, interesting. Or wait 'till tomorrow and see if Rachel Maddow noticed. That way I won't have to take an extra shower.

it's from harold using the '06 campaign e-mail list
I figured that. What I can't
I figured that. What I can't figure is why he thinks people who supported him and gave him money would want to watch Hannity and Colmes?
he believes politics is
he believes politics is about addition
go were others fear to tread
just like he went to that rebel flag waving bar last year
im sticking with him hope to help him in the future
Sean Hannity makes me sick
That's truly one of the worst shows ever. Sean Hannity is such a big fat slug. I do like Harold Ford Jr. I think he's a sincere person (hope I never have to eat those words). I guess I'll suffer through it just to see how ugly Hannity will be tonight.
I might have been more
I might have been more interested if the e-mail had said what he'd be talking about.
Anyway, happy to see that Wes Clark has signed on with MSNBC.
that sucked
longest ive ever watched fox news
dont like it
harold didnt get much time
but he should keep pluggin
Why run?
Why should he run from a show that has a liberal and a conservative? I don't care for these shows either. All both sides do is try to yell over the other side. The boycotting of debate because of a news network is rediculous. I don't care if it's Fox News, CNN, PBS, Air America or the communist network. No candidate on either side should be so beholden to a group as to bow down to their demand not to face the public. This goes for George Soros and all his front organizations as well as James Dobson, Pat Robertson or any business group. All organized televised debates should be participated in by all invited candidates. What happened on Fox was shameful. I will say the same in advance if the Republicans have any plans to cave as well. What are any of them afraid of?

I just don't see Faux allowing a liberal equal time.

Alan Colmes is a liberal? I thought he was just there to fill a chair.
Because it's usually a blood bath?
Some people can handle the Fox approach which is to invite a guest, then insult them, then snicker at their responses, then rise up to make one of their ideological tirades without giving the guest a chance to respond.
The clever liberals who visit the show (Al Sharpton is one) manages to turn the tables on H & C and get in a few good words for their cause. The others end up looking like jerked beef.
I support the boycotting by people who know they would not fare well on Faux News. No one needs Faux News. There are much better more productive places to appear, and their listeners are hardly the type to change their mind about anything. All they want to see is Sean insulting a liberal and to have their dogma justified.
Faux News is on the same level as Jerry Springer. I really don't consider them a news source as much as an entertainment show.
Uncalled for!!
You are being unnecessarily harsh to Jerry Springer doncha think?
Really, Springer doesn't pretend to be much of anything but a freak show. Faux News starts lying and deceiving with their very name and continue through all they do. Watching Springer is a much better use of one's time than watching FN.

TV
Ratings people. Look at the ratings. The "mainstream" media is sinking fast. Until fox all TV media was mostly liberal, now Fox is on and liberals can't stand it. Put a better product on the air and people will watch or listen. Advertisers wil buy time. That Air America thing worked well, Huh?
Why should he run from a
Why should he run from a show that has a liberal and a conservative?
Because.
Wayne,you got it wrong
I don't care if Fox News is broadcasting
If you want to watch, cool.I just dont care for it
I do like that Jr is on Fox News.Listen to what he says
If you agree fine;if not fine
But he is there.
I do agree, that the Democratic candidates should go to
the Fox News debate.
Let's face it Faux News ain't news
Sure they do cover news, but the aim is obvious. To gleefully disparage liberals. Period. Gleefully is the operative word here. It would be fine if this was being done by people who really understood the dynamics of a good debate. But all the Fuzzy News people do is snicker or screech. Screeching seems like a pre-requisite, and three or four people screeching at once seems to be the norm over there. Wow! That kind of dogfight really raises the ratings!
I'm all for healthy discussions from all points of view, but what I can't bear without cringing is the arrogant and rude attitude of people like Bill O'Really-O'Riley or Sean Ain't-I-adorable Hannity. At least the maven of conservative whackos Ann Coulter laughs and giggles as she performs her sarcasm. She makes Rosie O'Donnell look like Mary Poppins and she knows she's being a clown and she loves it because she's making big bucks. Now that's fair. Everyone has to make a living and she's a gas really with her over-the-top silliness, and those who enjoy those kinds of antics have a perfect right to be entertained by them.
Ratings have nothing to do with quality. Let's face it the average tv viewer is bored to death by facts and intelligent discourses. If they were, CSPAN would have the highest ratings, not Faux News. It's pure entertainment ala teenage high school clique style. It's adolescent, so of course it appeals to adolescent minds. The reason liberals can't compete in this arena is they simply aren't dumb enough, and they have too much pride to parade around acting like they are world's smartest people when they know they probably aren't.
News shows
My point is all other news channels are mostly liberal. This seemed to be fine with liberals for years. Now when a channel dares to show another side of the story or maybe have a conservative bent, this just can't be and anyone who watches must be an idiot. If they were really enlightened they would watch CNN or MSNBC. For the record I enjoy the occasional C-span broadcast.
No, You've missed your own point
Your point is that Stephen Colbert was right when he said that "The truth has a well known liberal bias". If the media outlets of which you speak appeared to be liberal, it may have been that they were reporting stories truthfully. Clearly, Faux News does not have that association with the truth and liberalism.
