All I can remember buying is

All I can remember buying is a cup of coffee. If retail food wasn't included (though I voted Yes), then I guess I can't brag that I cheated the gummint. Drat! ;>)

Why now?

I'm still trying to figure out how it's related to back to school supplies just as school is letting out for the summer.

Why not have two weekends in the fall instead?

Just at a guess, because the fiscal year ends June 30th, and they have extra funds this year that don't carry over.

Back to summer school?

Next time I may break out my trumpet and play a festive tune.

I'm still trying to figure

I'm still trying to figure out why we should care; it's just a 10% sale (not even that, really).

Yes, I wondered about that

Yes, I wondered about that (just a 10% sale). And, then having worked in retail, were the prices that good? Or, could someone just have waited for a real sale? Something like this could be good for the beginning of the school for those that definitely have to spend more money than usual preparing their children for the new school year.

I got some groceries and a couple of toys for a friend's child's birthday, none of which was tax free I'm sure. I really didn't pay that much attention to what was or wasn't included.

One thing I've wondered though is why it's referred to as a holiday. Shouldn't we have had some sort of tax free parade down Gay Street? Maybe a marching band and some people riding their new tax free computers and waving and throwing tax free candy?

We got some socks, underware, shoes, a couple of shirts and one box of markers for the youngest ( kinda misleading, as the youngest is 19 and autistic, but that boys just loves his markers)

During this previous fiscal

During this previous fiscal year I cleverly evaded the income tax by ingeniously lowering my imcome. I don't know why I didn't think of this before. All those years of working...wasted.

Sometimes my diabolicalosity amazes even me.

(Not so much the Mrs.)
