Gene Patterson has some great World's Fair stories and seeks yours for an upcoming retrospective on the 25th Anniversary of the 1982 Knoxville World's Fair and Energy Expo.

I suspect . . .

I'm not the only one who feels old when seeing "World's Fair" and "25th anniversary" in the same sentence.

I was 9 when the fair kicked

I was 9 when the fair kicked off and visited many times. Apart from the aging six pack of World's Fair Beer I inherited from my grandparents(still unopened and no doubt horribly disgusting) my most unique memory is that of my father leaving some pavement pizza near the Chinese pavilion after being over-served at the L&N.

I'll never forget the Worlds

I'll never forget the Worlds Fair in K-town. It was great fun. Six months later we moved to Florida for years of more fun!

I have a can of Worlds Fair

I have a can of Worlds Fair Beer that was never opened, somehow it is now empty. I don't have a clue where the beer went.

Knoxville lost a great

Knoxville lost a great historical landmark with the closing of the fair. The old L&N Hotel was a great place for food drinks and live entertainment. I think it was used for other purposes earlier in it's history. Boy if walls could talk.
