That's really awful!
The manatees are such lovely creatures, moving slowly in a world in love with hyper-speed. I lived on a boat in Lauderdale, and I used to love being paid a visit by manatee families. They should be protected forever from boats speeding along the waterways. Who needs those anyway? They cause annoying wakes. The manatee-protective speed limit was a boon to everyone. Seeing the giant ripped open slashes across the backs of those poor creatures made me feel ashamed to be human. Bush is anti-life in every way.

I agree wholeheartedly. The St. Johns can be like I-75 sometimes, lots of fast, large boats that don't care what gets in the way. The manatee friendly no wake zones keep it from being totally crazy on weekends.
Bush is anti-life in every
Bush is anti-life in every way.
That quote just doesn't go far enough. Substitute for "Bush is": "Conservatives are".
The modern conservative path is one of mean spirited destruction and a wasted, or even non-existant future. We have the choice to make this world whatever we want. There IS a path to "Eden" but we're not on it. Even the little things like the minor inconvenience of slowing down for manatees is too much of a bother for those who, by their actions, seem to hate this world. How long will the rest of us allow them to remain in power?
That quote just doesn't go
I've seen you write some over the top crap before but that one takes the cake.
Sorry about the manatees.

Can't we all just get a long gun?
Uncle:
My favorite Steve at Whites Creek-ism will always be "only Republicans are corrupt."
Never mind that William Jefferson guy with $100,000 worth of cash bribes in his freezer. Never mind that you spend 10 seconds Googling and find lots of corrupt Democrats. "Only Republicans are corrupt."
