A top aide to Attorney General Alberto Gonzales abruptly quit Friday, almost two weeks after telling Congress she would not testify about her role in the firings of federal prosecutors. Monica M. Goodling, the Justice Department's liaison to the White House, gave no reason for her resignation.

And yesterday: Three lawyers in the U.S. Attorney's office in Minneapolis resigned their management posts and will return to prosecuting case. The moves come as the U.S. Justice Department is under fire for its replacement of eight U.S. attorneys last year.

Monica-gate, Bush Rove style...

Monica Goodling appears to have disappeared.

In a truly bizarre statement, her attorney said that her refusal to testify before Congress by invoking the 5th Amendment against self incrimination was because she was innocent.

Isn't one of the GOP talking

Isn't one of the GOP talking points for wire tapping and email monitoring that if you didn't do anything wrong, you do not have anything to worry about? I hear wingnuts spew that all the time. If she is innocent, there is no rational reason for taking the fifth. Silly, lying, hypocritical Republicans.
