Ms. Ramode represents everything that is wrong with radical right-wing conservatives. Our tolerance for hatred and bigotry seems to expand in proportion to our fear. The big fearsome "thing" however is not gay soldiers, pot smokers, or people who choose to have abortions. It is the sick system, those embedded leaders in Washington whose choices have resulted in hundred of thousands of civilian war deaths, in our jails being crammed with minority prisoners arrested for non-violent drug crimes, and in our failed educational system that graduates students who are too illiterate to read their own diplomas.

People like Pace and Ramode are like wolves being thrown scraps of raw meat. The evil inside them is hungry for a victim, and they don't give a damn who that victim is either. As long as the greedy politicans in Washington can keep us hating each other, they can continue to rape the planet, destroy ancient civilizations and wipe out what they consider to be "undesirables"---namely any American who will not accept living under tyranny.

During this time of dark intentions, it is especially important to keep the focus where it belongs. It is not our fellow citizens who are the big problem. It is the convening, conniving politicians.

Just like in the Pat Tillman and Jessica Lynch scandals, our Defense Department is willing to lie about anything to maintain the myths the military thrives on.

Most homophobics picture some soldier in drag raising the rainbow flag on something akin to Mt. Iwo Jima. They have no clue that many gay people do not look "gay". They simply don't realize that tens of thousands of gays are in the military right now and dying every day for our country.

Ms. Ramode should be fired. Gays should be allowed out of the closet and into the military. Slowly more high ranking soldiers are admitting they're gay. "Don't tell" only keeps us ignorant about any gay person who might be a hero.

By constantly tossing people examples of reasons why they should fear their neighbors, manipulative politcians hope to keep insecure minds worrying over fake bones, while those who run the butcher shop sneak the steaks home every night.

According to the Chicago Tribune, a spokesperson for the U.S. Army Recruitment Command at Ft. Knox, Ky., said Sgt. Marcia Ramode, assigned to the Brooklyn, N.Y., recruiting office, has been suspended from her duties and reassigned until completion of an ongoing investigation.
