In a strange irony the end of the world now has better odds than you winning the PowerBall Lottery this Wednesday. An asteroid may come uncomfortably close to Earth in 2036.

Astronomers are monitoring an asteroid named Apophis, which has a 1 in 45,000 chance of striking Earth on April 13, 2036.

It will only be the end of the world for a City or small region but it is interesting that this is a fraction of the odds of winning this weeks PowerBall which has odds of 1 in 146,107,962.

Rest easy, the United Nations is on the case.

Just before the event is to unfold. I think I'll set me up one of those vending stands and sell some of those Willey Coyote type umbrellas. You know, the kind that save him from those massive falling rocks.

This is a scam. Some astronomer is just trying to trick some girl into having sex with him. Eventually. Anyway, scientists can't tell for sure what the weather is going to be like tomorrow, and now they are trying to say what the weather will be like on April 13, 2036!? And they say it's going to be hail the size of Rhode Island? Preposterous.

This from the same crowd that once thought the Sun revolved around the Earth. Obviously some healthy skepticism is in order.

Tycho Brahe was hallucinating because of his Hg poisoning. Wait. Umm, Hg is safe and our litigious society unfairly singles out the brave corporations that make this all possible.

Yes. Skepticism is needed.
