This is the legal framework

This is the legal framework that this administration is asserting? That there's no specific grant of habeas corpus to individuals?

Not only are they usurping legislative authority, they're usurping the rightful role of judicial review.

Let's have these nitwits removed from office.

The constitution says you

The constitution says you can’t take it away, except in the case of rebellion or invasion.

I guess Bush and company feels that if you are against them, then you're rebelling, and therefore waving your right to Habeas Corpus

What a brilliant legal mind.

What a brilliant legal mind. He doesn't deny that the principle of habeas corpus exists; it's just subject to the whim of the executive, that's all.

And to think he was passed over for SCOTUS.

And hey hey hey, those

And hey hey hey, those powers they claim are needed to Save the Republic (given to them by the dinglewad questioning Alberto VO-5) can also be used for two-bit shenanigans and ass covering.

Whooda thunk it?

Just as Bush is the only one

Just as Bush is the only one who makes Nixon look good, Gonzalez actually makes John Mitchell look good. And that's something I never, ever expected to say.

Well...

after watching that exchange, I feel like I should just go ahead and take the bar exam in Texas...I'll probably pass with flying colors if Gonzales passed it at all...even by the skin of his teeth. Never mind the fact that all my training is in electronics.
