The irony is astounding. Anybody who knows Les Jones or who has looked at his blog knows that he has been active in helping Johnia Berry's family find her killer.
Yesterday, a Knox County Sheriff's investigator showed up at his house based on a "tip" that Les resembled a police sketch of the killer (which is crazy). Read all about it here.
Michael Silence makes the point that law enforcement can't assume anything and that they have to run down every lead. It's hard to imagine, though, that they didn't know who Les Jones was or that he, along with the Berry family, have at times been critical of the Knox Co. Sheriff's handling of the case.
Stuff like this makes me once again wonder why anybody wants to run a website that discusses controversial issues.

I'm just guessing here, but
I'm just guessing here, but I'm assuming that they visited him just so that when the real killer is brought to trial, they can say that all leads and tips where followed through and all suspects were interviewed.
Randy: yeah, this really is
Randy: yeah, this really is discouraging. I had to tell my wife about the visit and why I think it was related to my work on the Johniaberry.org Web site. It worries her that there's some weirdo out there.
I'm glad the sheriff's department is following up on leads. I'm not mad at them at all. Detective Hall was a decent guy and very professional. He expressed regret that this case is taking so long to solve.
The person I'm not happy about is the coward who had obviously never seen me who lied to the sheriff and said I resemble a murderer I'm trying to help catch.

Yep. As Uncle said, if they thought it a serious tip they would have gone ninja on him. (with Sherruf Tim suited up for a photo op)
Plus in the meantime thay can say that they are actively working on the case.
