Hm. Wonder why the TEC folks didn't come clean about it? As I look at their board of directors, it doesn't seem like a who's-who of Republican supporters.

I suspect it is simply due

I suspect it is simply due to the terms of settlement. Common, unfortunately, but I have to say that is a fairly large amount of money.

In a greater sense, we have to wonder if a man like Corker must be sued in order to get him to do what's right...Why should we let him have the public trust?

Yep, the terms Corker's lawyer dictated when he (probably) way overpaid for the property. I doubt the Conservation or church people asked for the gag order. He just had them over a financial barrel.
