Looks like a swift boat is making its way up the Tennessee River. What a sad day for Tennessee politics. Thanks, Mr. Corker.

Great LTE in the Chattanooga Times Free Press today
Sorry I cannot find a link to the LTE in the Times Free Press, but here is some of what Mr. Weldon Markham had to write about Corker:
I definitely would not call Bob Corker a bald face liar, as did his two Republican primary opponents, Ed Bryant and Van Hilleary. However, I am convinced he plays loose wth the truth.
He knows full well Harold Ford is no liberal. I know, I am one. This is the typical strategy by Republican candidates void of ideas and vision.
Bob Corker said he would not use Harold's family in the campaign. Then after checking his watch, at the end of the Chattanooga debate, he took a cheap shot, suggesting there was something sinister in Ford, Sr. becoming a lobbyist for a mortgage loan insurer after Harold joined the House Financial Committee. Surprise! His word is not his bond. There is enough lack of honor in the U.S. Senate.
Way to go Mr. Markham. Enough said, Bob is a desperate, little man.
Last throes, curious claims.
Despite the claims of John Kerry, the Swift Boat Vets for Truth's claims were never disproven and the so-called "debunked claims" are still contentious. If Mr. Kerry has records disproving the Swiftees claims, he should produce them instead of simply alluding to them. He hasn't done that. It's been almost three years. Hmmm....curious.
Doesn't exactly help Kerry's case that his lapdog, the NYT, simply repeated Kerry's assertions about the Swiftees...without doing any actual research of their own.
As Thomas Lipscomb says, "Now as then, the Times acts as if the issues involved were between Kerry's latest representations of his record and the "unsubstantiated" charges of the Swift Boat group. The Times used the term "unsubstantiated" more than twenty times during its election coverage and continues to make no discernable effort to examine any of the charges in detail."
All this goes to illustrate that your comment about Swiftees arriving in Tennessee might not be such a bad thing...if you're concerned about truth, of course.
Btw, RCP has Ford ahead of Corker by 0.8% in the average of polls from SurveyUSA, Reuters, Rasmussen, etc.
Hardly qualifies as "last throes" and "embarrassing desperation," does it?
Egalia Stanberry - excellent
Egalia Stanberry - excellent comments but prepare to be attacked. You have crossed the line that the typical KnoxViews users will not accept.
Egalia Stanberry - excellent comments but...
...prepare to be attacked
Not because the comments are excellent, but because they are lies and smears.
If Mr. Kerry has records disproving the Swiftees claims, he should produce them instead of simply alluding to them. He hasn't done that. It's been almost three years. Hmmm....curious.
What freakin' planet do you live on? When did it become the burden of the accused to disprove the accuser? It is the burden of those making such claims to show their proof. The swift boaters haven't. Some have admitted they were part of a smear campaign. Others have been shown to be liars.
But here goes anyway.
You Bush apologists and sycophants keep conveniently forgetting pesky things like the truth:
...On May 20, [2005,] Kerry signed a document called Standard Form 180, authorizing the Navy to send an ''undeleted" copy of his ''complete military service record and medical record" to the Globe. Asked why he delayed signing the form for so long, Kerry said in a written response: ''The call for me to sign a 180 form came from the same partisan operatives who were lying about my record on a daily basis on the Web and in the right-wing media. Even though the media was discrediting them, they continued to lie. I felt strongly that we shouldn't kowtow to them and their attempts to drag their lies out."
Many of the records contain praise for Kerry's service. For example, the documents quote Kerry's former commanding officers as saying he is ''one of the finest young officers with whom I have served;" is ''the acknowledged leader of his peer group;" and is ''highly recommended for promotion." ...
More about the swift boaters.
Nice try, morons.
(Maybe "last throes" isn't
(Maybe "last throes" isn't the best way to characterize this...)

More insane bullshit from the flat-earth people. If we tried to claim John Kerry had brown hair and blue eyes, you'd produce charts and graphs showing how our assertions were somehow scientifically inaccurate due to phases of the moon, light refraction, whatever... I hope for your sake you're not on the official Republican Party payroll, because I know some Republicans who are actually pretty decent people. The fact that you're on here defending these Swift Boat folks is an embarrassment to the Republican Party, to Tennesseans, and to humanity in general.
I'd call it pretty desperate that Corker has spent twice the money Ford has to beat a black man in the racist South, and that his poll numbers on RCP haven't topped Ford's for six months. However, I'm sure you'll have some excuse for that too, sweetheart.
Swiftys Were Disproven
Just for you morons out there that still believe the swifty's lies... They were disproven. A reporter for the Chicago Tribune who had refused to get involved in the mud slinging finaly spoke up two days before the election. Unfortunatly no other media outlet listened. He was a reporter that was actually on the scene of the battles the swifty's brought into quetion. He was not a Kerry supporter but could no longer stand for what the dirty PAC had done. People should follow the news more closely and do your won research before passing judgement. Don't let TV tell you what you should think! Think for yourselves and do the research!
Oh, and the Vietnam fighters that fought against Kerry remember the battle as Kerry described, and even know exactly who Kerry killed, it wasn't a kid who was unarmed, The Vietcong described the individual as a brave man who was one of their best fighters.
Here's an article on my site about Corker, Bush, Bob Perry, Swift Boat Vets, Karl Rove, and Free Enterprise Fund. Corker is nothing but a rubber stamp for the Bush Team.
(link...)
Calling out liars, eh? Christmas in Cambodia, anyone?
Thank you, RedDog, and rest assured, I’m always prepared for an attack by the leftist peanut gallery. It tends to happen when one assaults (read: applies critical thought, stunning insight and factual analyses) their sacred cows.
But my, my, my at the vitriol on this one! Why, the next thing you know, I’ll be attacked as a “flat-earth moron” for pointing out that George W. Bush was actually elected twice!
Lefties, please cutn’paste the beginning of your response to this fact from here: “Yeah, the guy who owns Diebold…”

I was going to point out the dogmatic assertion in this passage…and then I realized that was the entire thing. Good job, very substantive.
I'd call it pretty desperate that Corker has spent twice the money Ford has to beat a black man in the racist South…
Ah, good to see the twin pillars of leftism are still alive and well: projection and victimhood.
Btw, why is it that the only people who feel the need to point out Ford’s race are, well, Ford and his lefty supporters?
…and that his poll numbers on RCP haven't topped Ford's for six months.
Um, You really should try to keep up with the polls a bit better. Try looking at last week’s RCP numbers.
The person making the claim has to provide the evidence. If it's good enough for the American legal system, it's good enough for any place other, right?
Um, was Kerry charged in an American court of law with something? Since I surmise the answer is “no,” he was free to produce or not produce the evidence as he saw fit. But it’s my opinion that since the Navy says about 100 pages were not released by Kerry after his “signing” of Form 180; the doctor who treated professional Vietnam veteran, Kerry, for his first Purple Heart says his “wound” was literally treated by a Bandaid and he didn't deserve a medal; his commanding officer said his wound resembled a “scratch”; witnesses said he got his butt filled with rice by tossing a grenade into a cache of it; and the fact that Kerry was caught unashamedly lying about being in “Cambodia for Christmas,” well, that seems to create a pretty good circumstantial case for his being disingenuous at every turn about his service, doncha’ think?
Oh, and I guess the hundreds of Vietnam veterans who came out against him as being unfit for the presidency based on their personal knowledge of him, well, they must all have been lying.
Shrug
When did it become the burden of the accused to disprove the accuser? It is the burden of those making such claims to show their proof.
Funny that those leftists paying lipservice to this concept are generally the same ones who will be found chanting the mantras: “Bush lied,” “war for oil,” “Bush is spying on us,” “American soldiers are torturing prisoners,” etc.
Interesting.
But this discussion isn't really about the tangent of Kerry lying about his military service. Or his loss in the '04 election. It's about the fact that a group with ties to the same 527 as the Swiftees is coming to Tennessee to address our hotly contested Senate race.
And that just might be a good thing.
Thumbs - Up!
Thumbs - Up!
"Thumbs-up"
Your ass.
Funny that those leftists paying lipservice to this concept are generally the same ones who will be found chanting the mantras: “Bush lied,” “war for oil,” “Bush is spying on us,” “American soldiers are torturing prisoners,” etc.
Interesting.
What a simplistic and lame response to avoid the issue. I think I'll ignore the rest of this troll alert. Send somebody smarter next time.
Yep
Sorry, troll. You gotta actually try to defend some of your assertions with actual facts - as opposed to the talking points printed on the inside of Rush Limbaugh's eyelids - if you're going to get the limp-wristed liberals all riled up. Otherwise, we're going to dismiss you as an idiot, which I think most of us just did.
War in Iraq Spreads to Knoxville
So with all the conclusions expressed here, the ultimate goal of everybody is Democrats should rule. Just because of the failure and stupidity of pedophilia, gay marriage, racism, millionaires, family jewels, ramphant school kids, and great wars on poverty have all been blamed , we still have a war in Iraq to fight and win, a politically split and violent nation in which to promote health care, home purchasing, job finding, family values, respect for law and order, and the list goes on and on.... And all you folks want to do on here is continue the griping and complaining about an election of 2000 in which the constitution of the US was upheld. Get over the Bush hating, and let's get rid of the self abasers, socialists, Hitler lovers, femi-nazis, and political labels long enough to think about building up our armed forces, protecting our borders, educating our ignorant kids, stopping gang warfare, cleaning up our environment, building safe fuel efficient vehicles and productive industry inside the borders of this great nation. Look in the mirror, folks... the face you see there is the donkey's ass you are trying to kiss.
Yep, sheez
Project much?
Shame on Bob Corker, the
Shame on Bob Corker, the Republican Party, and the Swift Boaters. Nothing better to say about themselves?
Can't sell themselves?
They should be an embarrassment to all conservatives everywhere!
Vote Harold Ford, Jr. for Senate.
I am bizgrrl and I approve this message.
I am bizgrrl and I approve
I am bizgrrl and I approve this message.
I can't believe you are the first to do that riff. I am jealous I didn't think of it.
Funny.
...building up our armed
...building up our armed forces, protecting our borders, educating our ignorant kids, stopping gang warfare, cleaning up our environment, building safe fuel efficient vehicles and productive industry inside the borders of this great nation.
I thought that was what we were trying to do. Vote out the administration that put us in this situation and look to the future to do the right thing for our great nation.
