What's up with Republican candidates angling for the coveted NRA endorsement by portraying themselves as avid hunters and outdoorsmen who don't have hunting/fishing licenses?
Maybe you don't need a license to hunt tame game on private preserves or fish in catch-n-eat trout/catfish farm ponds?
(Obligatory SayUncle lecture prophylactic: Yes, we are aware that the 2nd Amendment is not about hunting. Heh.)

Ford was angling for that endorsement too. Does he have a license?

No, his expired too. He doesn't strike me as much of an outdoorsman anyway, and I'm not sure he's claimed to be, but I could be wrong.
Well, Corker doesn't strike
Well, Corker doesn't strike me as much of an outdoorsman. He looked a bit awkward in his commercials on the border in Arizona trying to look all rough and tumble. I've never heard corker portray himself as a sporstman, but the NRA did. Odd.

I hunt my own land and don't have to have a license. We usually buy one anyway as support for TWRA.
Seems like a stupid oversight on the part of the campsign managers, though. And it takes 5 minutes to correct online.

Cheney
So if Cheney wanted to come to Tennessee to hunt caged raised quail, and prentend he is the great white hunter, would he need a license?
Fair and Balanced? Today's NRA?

Odd that the NRA would make a mischaracterizarion? Heh.
So if Cheney wanted to come to Tennessee to hunt caged raised quail, and prentend he is the great white hunter, would he need a license?
Good question (or point, really). Rhetorical because who would dare challenge him?
Meanwhile, the NRA endorsed

Further Cheney
A more important question is that if Mr. Cheney were caught hunting without a license, would he get retroactive immunity from the fine?
Besides, when I asked him about this over coffee this morning, he replied, "License? What license? We don't need no stinkin' license!"
