Report: Medicaid costs Ohio $2 billion less than expected

The savings follow Gov. John Kasich’s expansion of Medicaid in 2013 to cover thousands more Ohioans, as allowed under President Barack Obama’s health care law. Nearly 3 million people are now enrolled after more than 500,000 low-income adults without dependent children enrolled last year — 150,000 more than expected, state officials said. That number was offset, though, by a decrease in traditional enrollments.

Republican Gov. John Kasich is now running for president.

"The Ohio governor reportedly

"The Ohio governor reportedly alienated attendees at the Koch-affiliated conference in 2014 by giving a fiery defense of his decision to expand Medicaid. “I don’t know about you, lady,” Kasich told one prominent Republican donor. “But when I get to the pearly gates, I’m going to have an answer for what I’ve done for the poor.” According to Politico, roughly 20 attendees walked out of the room in protest at the Ohio governor’s answer."

Thanks for a TRUTH filled article about the ACA !

And in today's KNS, on page 3F is another one of those Koch written pieces provided to the unsuspecting readers by the "BEACON Center" already exposed as being funded (with $1 million to destroy any hope of the uninsured, very ill even a chance for affordable care by the Americans For Prosperity which was the former Karl Rove billionaires' club. The Kochs bought it to be another of their PAC funding arms. The ONLY goal of this 'center' is to continue to lobby against "Insure Tennessee". Words in this 'article' include DANGER,IN LIMBO (referring to workers' employer paid health insurance) and '18% increase in insurance premiums'. And all this negative, UNPROVEN data is from a management study Oliver Wyman. I guess ole Oliver didn't hear or see the news from Ohio and their Republican Governor Kasich ! Wonder if this Oliver person is the same survey producer that keeps claiming that Trump is winning all the polls. And I know about real financial data, done by Vanderbilt, the Tennessee Hospital Association and other MEDICAL entities that prove the cost to Tennessee by refusing to VOTE YES will be huge....LIVES LOST, Hospitals closed, thousands of medical staff to lose jobs, and the State's reputation as a cost-efficient manager of our state economy as one of the worst. It is a shame that the Tennessee Governor and the 'super majority' in our Legislature care more about working for the Kochs than their neighbors, real people who need medical care they can afford. And apparently the Republican Governor of Ohio had the guts to CARE.
