Escaping From Corker's Mom
Submitted by redmondkr on Sat, 2006/09/30 - 9:59am.
I bought a satellite dish three years ago when Comcast had just started inserting local ads into the commercial breaks of The History Channel, History International, and so on. I hadn’t given it much thought until this election cycle, but I bet it’s hard to escape Corker’s mother on the cable unless you run to a premium channel or TCM.

Victor always rolled his mother out at election time and played on her good senses and her ability to light the telephone lines up and issue a call to arms to support little Victor.
Now Lil' Bob is pulling a page out of the Victor Ashe playbook.

The problem was that nobody who could make a difference gave a rats rear end until Billy Haslam stepped forward for $1 a year.
To keep it all in perspective, the City of Knoxville operating budget, is much less than the Education Budget incorporated into the Knox County Budget year in and year out. You'd think there was more to the city by reading the News-Sentinel, but really it's just a debt machine with a police and fire department.
There is no escape from Corker's Mom. Look in your mailbox.
She seems to be steering clear of Bravo - hmmm...
They probably don't want their ads running in the middle of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.

Bad idea. Ford wins in a runaway.
I was reading Ed Wright's great web site about his hikes on Mount LeConte when I stumbled upon this flattering image of the good Ambassador to Poland:
When you see Ashe's picture it is hard to believe he is the closest thing to Darth Vader this town ever saw. Looks can be deceiving.
Gawd, 9,
You almost made me swallow my bubblegum with that jab. Darth Ashe, Victor Vader . . . . . . Hmmm.

Honestly, this was just a gimme to the Ford people. Corker walked right into that one: "lying to his own mother", indeed.
(OK, I admit I think it's hilarious...)
