Heh. Indeed. Jack Lail, head of the Knoxville News Sentinel's online operations, has some interesting (and somewhat flattering for KnoxViews participants despite the amusing headline above) commentary on the recent KnoxViews reader survey.

400K page views per month?
400K page views per month? Wow.
SKB's
How do the page views compare to SKB's? I seem to think that traffic was higher there.
Actually, visits are higher
Actually, visits are higher than they were at SKB (2500/day v. 1500-1800/day). Don't remember the page views, but I think it averaged about 2.5 per visit. There seem to be more page views per visit here (like 4.5 or so) for some reason.
(All of these statistics are suspect if you ask me. You can run three different log analyzers and get three different answers, and something completely different from SiteMeter.)
Andy, I think I'm doubly
Andy, I think I'm doubly damned, cool-wise, since neither of my iPods (70 GB total) has anything in the hip-hop genre. That's a clue if there ever was one. There's an awful lot of Beethoven and Mozart in there, too.
"There seem to be more page
"There seem to be more page views per visit here (like 4.5 or so) for some reason."
I think it's the thing on the front page that shows new comments to existing threads. I check it every time I visit for threads I'm following. It's the coolest feature in Drupal.
Hey, Les, why don't we just call each other assholes and get it over with. - Somebody on the old Southknoxbubba.net (if that was you, claim your quote and win net.fame!)
Les has a valid point.I
Les has a valid point.
I think the fact that we repeatedly return to or refresh the home page for those updates may be tilting your statistics somewhat. And, yeah, that is a great feature.
But knoxviews’ writers
MORE INFOTAINMENT, DAMMIT!
(Truth be told, though, I do delve, and prodigiously so. I simply don't share much, since I'm rather more interested in esoteric or less commercial art forms. And honestly, you can get Baby Suri chatter almost anywhere, but there's only one place to come to discuss the stuff that really matters -- like cockfighting!)

"Not particularly hip or cool"
Yeah, but you're not going to find more comprehensive cockfighting coverage anywhere else.

What about the April 1 rodeo? :)
It is probably safe to say
It is probably safe to say that not one (registered) poster at KnoxViews keyboards with one hand while holding his/her pants up with the other.
Sadly, that seems to be one of today's definitions of cool.

Are you saying we don't wear pants when we blog? I mean...how'd you know?
And more than that...What gives you the right to go tellin'?
Dang!
We have ways of knowing
We have ways of knowing these things.
Remember when Redd Foxx said there was nothing uglier than a ninety-year-old white woman? Well, I am proof that a fat, nekkid, sixty-year-old white guy is no eye candy either.
I admit that I sometimes "work" somewhat less that formally attired. On occasion, I am also obliged to work one-handed while petting two Rottweilers - if a dog appears on the nearby telly.
I'll have another donut with that coffee.
That's right
But knoxviews’ writers don’t delve much in entertainment, trends, lifestyles.
Someone better step up with some Suri TomKat blogging or I'm walking . . . .
Brian A.
I'd rather be cycling.
I can't of anything hipper
I can't of anything hipper or cooler than the Thursday Style section of KNS. That and lots of stories that feature this kind of hip or cool!! To paraphrase the pReZ, I can't think of anything cooler and hipper than that. And "hip or cool" is all that matters anyway, right?
Ditch Your iPod
According to the UK's Observer, the iPod is losing its cool. There is another damning piece of evidence . . . I have two of them.
There are 4 in my house
There are 4 in my house, not counting Shuffles.

Well, maybe we can aspire to
Well, maybe we can aspire to match Mr. Lail's cool, hip, exciting blog some day. He's right up there with Wonkette. Red and yellow, so easy on the eyes.
