Just ordered a replacement push button igniter for our Weber Genesis 1000 grill. Previously it started first time almost every time but it finally quit. The grill is approx. 17 or 18 years old, and with this $11 repair I will have replaced nearly every functional part except the box and the frame. I also converted it to natural gas a while back. Don't know if they still make them like they used to, but they certainly built them to last back then.

Have you looked at the newer

Have you looked at the newer grills that don't expose your food to direct flames? I was skeptical and told the spouse my old grill was just fine. She bought it for me anyway because she knows how much of a Luddite I can be about such things. I mean, come on, messing with perfection?

I am now pleased to say the newer "infrared" grill is much better. You might want to consider a technological upgrade too.

I've looked at those infrared

I've looked at those infrared grills a couple of times. Some of them can get really hot for searing, right? Back when I looked, though, they were pretty expensive.
