The family members of the sick are some of the most vulnerable people that charities (and I use the term incredibly loosely) like to target. And believe you me, they are targeted.

Choose your charity wisely. Look into their structure, try to find out who gets paid and how much. See if you can find out which companies support, financially, the charity, if at all.

Knowledge is power.
