Tom Humphrey reports on the lobbying cash soaking Nashville. Maybe if AT&T spent less time and money lobbying to protect their racket they could build out more rural broadband. Or maybe even bring it downtown to Gay Street.

Funding

The "people" who funds a campaign are the ones who get rewarded. Those with the gold makes the golden rules.
Campaigns are very expensive and someone has to pay for it.
It never creases to amaze me that those who have never contributed a dime to a campaign are the first ones wanting to influence legislation.

I agree with you 110%!!! But it will never happen. That would take elections out of the hands of the special interest groups and give an average citizen an opportunity to be elected. Hell will freeze over before that happens. All elections should be public financed with a spending limit applicable to all candidates.
