You must be a Republican if you think we need to step up profiling of Muslims at airport, but are shocked and angered when the IRS thought groups that espoused the idea that 'you shouldn't pay taxes' needed more scrutiny.

Personally, if a guy walks around a parking lot at night with a crowbar and a bright yellow T-shirt that reads "I love to break into cars," I have no problem with the police keeping an eye on him or asking him a few questions.

Honestly

It's all in the name.

TEA=Taxed Enough Already

This is a politically motivated name, with politically motivated missions. That alone should have the IRS picking over these astro-turf groups with a fine toothed comb.

Apologize? The IRS should be apologizing to us for NOT looking at these groups closely enough.

Oh by the way...

Ahem: "[IRS Commissioner Douglas] Shulman was appointed by President George W. Bush. His 6-year term ended in November."

Rubio Demands the Head of IRS Commissioner

"There was a commissioner, Douglas Shulman, who was appointed by the Bush/Cheney administration five years ago, and who was in charge when the agency began treating conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status unfairly."

But he resigned last November and there is nobody waiting in the wings for the Republicans to filibuster.

Rachel Maddow has more here.

The IRS has been so beaten

The IRS has been so beaten down by the Tea Party wing of the Republican party, long before it came to be known as such, how can they do their jobs at all? If they're not harassing and just scrutinizing, they are fishing where there are the most fish.

But yes, find someone--anyone--who claims outrage for this and has spoken out equally against racial profiling.
