2nd ANNUAL SMOKY MOUNTAIN SERVICE DOGS
1 Mile Walk / 5K Run
This event will be held at 0800 (8:00 AM) on 02 Mar, 2013 at the Tellico TVA Boat Ramp between the Fort Loudon Dam and the Tellico Bridge at the intersection of the TN 321 and Tellico Parkway County Road 444 (map). The Bearden High NJROTC is hosting the event.
Smoky Mountain Service Dogs is "dedicated to serving persons with physical and psychological disabilities by training service dogs to meet client needs, while advancing the knowledge of human and canine interaction, thus leading to more fulfilling and productive lives."

It's unfortunate that this is
It's unfortunate that this is being held March 2 as there are two other 5ks that day, one to benefit East Knox County schools (8 a.m.) and the other to benefit - I think - the UT library (9 a.m.). Obviously, all three are for a good cause, so it's too bad there couldn't have been communication between the groups to at least set them at different times of the day or perhaps move one to March 3.
