Harris told the journalists "we have to have the faithful in government" because that is God's will. Separating religion and politics is "so wrong because God is the one who chooses our rulers," she said.
Which is funny, because her campaign for the U.S. Senate doesn't have a prayer.
"If you are not electing Christians, tried and true, under public scrutiny and pressure, if you're not electing Christians, then in essence your are going to legislate sin," Harris said in answer to a question about why Florida Baptists should care about this primary election.
So it's not just any God that appoints political leaders. It's the Christian god. So how did Joe Lieberman slip by all these years?
Rep. Katherine Harris (R-Fla.) said this week that God did not intend for the United States to be a "nation of secular laws" and that the separation of church and state is a "lie we have been told" to keep religious people out of politics.
Just when you thought she couldn't go any further off into the deep end, she manages to plumb new depths of crazy. Nothing like a little free publicity for your campaign, though.

I also liked the recent one where she answers the question: If told that a tree fell on a smaller hangar intended for a campaign rally, would anyone be duped into hearing a more successful campaign?

It's funny how these batty Dominionists (who claim to be patriots) consistently seem to have never read the US Constitution. In addition to the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment, Article VI of the body clearly says:
... no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States.
I guess the theocratic urge causes blindness among reactionaries. It seems to make them conveniently forget that we fought a revolution to get away from exactly that kind of tyranny. It's just too bad that so many people swallow this load of bull from Harris & other Shi'ite Republicans.
Of course after the Rapture takes them all away, we won't have to worry about them any more. It can't happen fast enough.

Remember, Cruella thinks her creator, Walt Disney, is God, so she takes her orders from his cryogenically frozen head.
What's far more amazing to me is how many Floridians are steadfastly planning to vote for her so she can be swamped by Nelson in the general. It's like booking a cabin on the Titanic after it's already hit the iceberg, because they're fond of the song 'Nearer my God to Thee'.
It seems this should have run up a red flag to the Republicans staunchest of supporters knowing an election could be decided by one person, no matter what party won! The integrety of our whole election process took an enourmous hit from this failure of action to stop it.

Urban Dictionary has just added the term Katherine Harris Crazy to its collection of slang phrases.

Katherine Harris says God elects candidates, not voters:
God??? Was she referring to Bush or Cheney?
And we let this person decide the presidential election?
And we let this person decide the presidential election?
Yes, we did. And we owe it to ourselves to never let anyone forget that's one of the key sanfus that led to this 8 yr. trainwreck.

The Weber thesis: God chooses those who will win grace. A unique characteristic of thinking in the western culture, particularly in the U.S.
