Here's a sampling of area legislator votes on a few bills of interest in the 107th General Assembly. (The asterisks in Massey's record indicate the first session before she took office. The blank entries in Tindell's record indicate no vote.)

UPDATE: Chart updated to correct Armstrong's loser pays vote.

Interesting. It would appear Harry Tindell is giving up (hope he's not having some sort of problems affecting his ability to vote). Overbey and Ramsey in Blount County are not toeing the line. Will that cause them a problem with re-election?

Will that cause them a problem with re-election?

Probably not.

Although Overbey has drawn a primary challenger backed by the Blount Co. old guard, specifically citing Overbey's vote against eliminating collective bargaining for teachers. Even so, the challenger doesn't sound very credible.

Tona Monroe is challenging Bob Ramsey in the primary. She's a nut so he is safe.

My guess is that there won't be any Ds on the general election ticket for either seat. My guess is that they are both safe.

P.S. Meant to say, that's why Overbey gets away with being a smart, reasonable, and sometimes even progressive politician. In Blount Co. nobody pays attention to anything except the "R" beside the name, so he can pretty much vote however he wants.

Forgot about that. According to the TNDP he's one of only two Ds in the House with ALEC ties, along with dozens of Rs.

Armstrong

OK, double checked, and I had recorded his vote on some Senate amendments, not the original passage of the bill which he voted against. Chart corrected, with apologies to Rep. Armstrong and props for his perfect voting record on these bills.

Isn't Joe's wife in pharmaceutical sales? Or maybe some other medical sort of occupation?

Anyway, ALEC's Private Enterprise Board is loaded with Big Pharma types.

I've alway liked Joe fine, too, but...just sayin.
