My community column supports the expanded schools budget.

Debate leads to one conclusion - more school funding

I've added one special feature for Knoxviews readers. Normally reading the online responses can be a dreary exercise in ad hominem, logical fallacies, and half-remembered talking points from talk radio. Let's jazz it up a bit with Bingo.

Here's a Bingo card in anticipation.

Your bingo card doesn't have "twit." But I guess that's covered by "Professor?"

half a billion

Heard Mayor Burchett on the radio today talk about the current half billion dollar Knox Schools budget.

Apparently the WATE story is making waves:

(link...)

"Once federal and state dollars are factored in, county finance department records show Knox County Schools spent $518.85 million."

So the schools get over half a billion dollars now and no one knew? Makes the old BW Commission look honest by comparison.
