I wonder what Mission
I wonder what Mission Control over at Mount Lonas is like this morning? Ragsdale and Corker are both having a bad hair day today.
I told them this would
I told them this would happen. Now Mike will never be governer. I never had any thing to do with this mess. I am inocent.
Ragsdale for Governor
I might consider voting for him if he runs as a Democrat. Otherwise I'll probably vote for the Democrat.
Indigestion
Number9 said "The game plan that I have heard comes from Mount Lonas. Ragsdale will be Governor, Bill Haslam will take Jimmy Duncan's seat in Congress"
Hope not. It would be a sharp and deep drop off from the current gubernatorial administration.
WATE "clarifies" the Mayor's new website
WATE had a report last night about Ragsdale for Governor. It is not on their website but Gene Patterson's blog does cover the story.
WATE reports that Jon Gustin registered the Internet Domain without Ragsdale's authorization or knowledge and used his own money to do so. Is that the kind of "initiative" that County workers should have? What other activities occur without authorization?
Gene Patterson reports:
The fact that Mike Ragsdale
The fact that Mike Ragsdale wants to be governor isn't exactly news. He's had that in mind for awhile now.
But who in their right mind is getting all het up about 2010 yet?
BTW, I'm dubious that Bill Haslam wants higher office (although he might run for it anyway, if Daddy etc. pushed hard enough). I think, although he's done a pretty ok job as Mayor, he's also found it challenging. It ain't like running a family-owned business. I'm not sure he really likes it all that much.
I Wouldn't Vote for Him in 1,000 years
Besides, my father in law wouldn't let me move to Nashville with the rest of Team Ragsdale, he wouldn't know where to send the mortgage payment.
Ragsdale has about as much chance of being governor as Tyler Harber has on being Chairman of the Tennessee Republican Party, in fact, there are a lot of similarities.
Ragsdale wanted to run for
Ragsdale wanted to run for Gov the first day that he was elected County Mayor.
There are people that he mentioned it to on the day he was inaugurated.
He is rumored to have said, "The first day I was elected County Commissioner, I worked to be elected County Exec (hadn't been changed yet). And, today (the first day he was Mayor/Exec) I start working to be elected Governor."

Actually, the first wife will tell you he wanted to be governor long before he ever ran for office the first time for anything.
Heck, I didn't vote for him for County Mayor
Heck, I didn't vote for him for County Mayor (either term).

Gov. Bill Haslam?
That's an interesting rumor I picked up recently from a person with statewide political connections. That would certainly shoot some other Republicans out of the saddle if the Knoxville mayor were to run in 2010. That is, of course, a long way off, but fun speculation nonetheless.
The game plan that I have heard comes from Mount Lonas. Ragsdale will be Governor, Bill Haslam will take Jimmy Duncan's seat in Congress, and Jimmy Duncan will take a Federal Judgeship. Actual government will occur at Mount Lonas. The surfs will rejoice as the King will rule with benevolence. Supposedly.
We live in interesting times.
Egad!
A politician who aspires to seek higher political office? Quick -- where are my smelling salts!
Is there really nothing going on in the world?
And, 9, "the surfs will rejoice"? I can't say how the "serfs" will take it, but I imagine the "surfs" will be busy hanging ten or boogie boarding or whatever ...

It is a local thing. We spell Sheriff "Shurf". Hence serf becomes surf. Kind of like Cuber instead of Cuba.

And on the day Ragsdale is
And on the day Ragsdale is signed in as Governor, he will have his sights set on the White House. And when he takes the oath of THAT office, he'll be planning for... uh... well, not sure. Secretary General of the UN? Randy Jackson's spot on American Idol?
Yeah, but only under orders
Yeah, but only under orders by Ragsdale who was afraid that Tyler Harber would buy up all the domains and web-publish a tell all.
Harber is holding mikeragsdale.com ransom for money Ragsdale owes him.
I hear the total is about 30k or so.

Considering that the
Considering that the election is 4 years away, who would have their mind made up right now? As far as Ragsdale for Governor, he could be a good one, but there are many others who could run. Education has been a major priority for him. Health care would be the major challenge, as it has been and would for anybody. It would be nice to have a governor from ET.
I think #9 has been beating his drum about this for awhile. We get it. You hate Ragsdale, so these posts about how evil he is aren't really credible. Time to move on...

Ask his first wife what he thinks about teachers (she's one) and you might get a different response about his views on education.
