Lamont part owner of Wal-Mart

The Washington Times seems to be having a slow news day. Ned Lamont, Connecticut Democratic Senate candidate, wants to "wake up Wal-Mart, and wake up corporate America". There is an allusion Lamont is hypocritical because he owns Wal-Mart stock, thus a "part owner of the company".
I personally don't consider someone (a family) with $31,000 invested in Wal-Mart stock a part owner. Although, in reality, everyone owning stock in a company is "part owner". This amount is minute in the big Wal-Mart picture, not much corporate voting power. In addition, with the understanding that Lamont is a millionaire, a $31,000 investment may not even show up on his family's radar. More power to them for getting a 10% return on their investment, according to the article.
Apparently you can still shop at Wal-Mart and disagree with how they run their business, at least according to many people who have justified to me their continued support for Wal-Mart bargains.

Thanks for saying this. It is completely logical to disagree with something yet still participate in it if it is beneficial to you. Is it ethical? Maybe not. But you can't doubt someone whose only access to certain products is WalMart. They can say "I have to hold my nose, but it is the only place to shop." There is nothing internally wrong with that.
