Ken Whitehouse at Post Politics has an unverified, unconfirmed, and unscientific roundup of rumors, name dropping and random chatter about people who might be considered for various cabinet posts in the Haslam administration. Interesting reading.

Anyone have breakdown on the
Anyone have breakdown on the Department of Transportation list and/or Department of Conservation?
Seeing Saltsman's on the transportation list was a shocker. That would be an unpleasant selection.
Getting a handle on an out of control tdot and the obvious road builders influence was one of best moves Bredesen did. If Haslam wants to start out with building a passionate resistance from the beginning, appoint some folks that already have years of resentment banked.
Obviously you have not left
Obviously you have not left your house and seen the current state of transportation over the last 8 years. Congestion has reached an all time high and TDOT can only maintain the current routes as dedicated road funding was shifted during the last administration and much needed projects have been shelved. More new lane miles of road were constructed during the previous adminstration and the larger current metropolitan construction projects got their start during the last administration. Most people rely on experts for tough tasks, the new leader should be someone that understands the needs of transportation and the economic benefit that comes with new routes and improved highways.
Bill Clabough would make me
Bill Clabough would make me happy at TDEC.
I have a VERY strong opinion about one of the names on the TDOT list. But that's all you're gonna get out of me.
Of this list Clabough and
Of this list Clabough and Sloan seem the most qualified, given the mission of TDEC. Maybe Tidwell. I still think an academic background in Environmental Science should be a requirement for such a position.

Department of Transportation
They need to go back to drawing board here. This list isn't even close. How about a list of candidates with academic backgrounds in transportation and logistics. Multi-modal transportation. There isn't a Transportation and Logistics prof at UT that could take an extended leave to fill this position?
