Plans to close the U.T. University Club (formerly known as the Faculty Club) have hit a snag.
Sources tell KnoxViews that the 1967 deed transfer has a conveyance clause stating that the property was donated to the faculty for the purpose of club facilities for a period of 56 years from the date of transfer. They still have 17 more years to go. U.T. lawyers are looking into it.
