The Knoxville News Sentinel has this convoluted article about Harold Ford, Sr. (yes, Sr., not Jr.) and Ed Bryant's frustrations with trying to prosecute him in 1993. (Bryant lost. Ford Sr. was acquitted. Ford Jr. was 23 at the time of the trial, attending the University of Pennsylvania.)

In the process, they appear to be trying to take down two Corker opponents: Harold Ford Jr. for choosing to be born into the Ford family, and Ed Bryant for being bitter, petty, and vindictive. Bonus: Bryant invokes Clinton.

This is a bonus round in follow up to Sunday's Harold Ford Jr. profile, which quoted an unnamed Nashville radio personality as saying Ford Jr. has "a genetic predisposition to lie, cheat and steal." It's Swift Boat deja vu all over again. Sadly, it's only a preview of what's to come.

So is the KNS following the Fox News model of fair and balanced reporting?

I'd rather be cycling.
