Books should have a big, circled red Z or V right on the front cover, signifying "zombie" or "vampire" so I don't have to bother looking at the synopsis to find out I'm not interested in reading it.

(Also, have you noticed that book covers with the author's name printed larger than the book title frequently suck?)

I just downloaded a freebie

I just downloaded a freebie from Amazon, The Goddess of Fried Okra by Jean Brashear.

The customer reviews are quite positive and, according to one, it's:

. . . the kind of book you always hope to find and rejoice wildly when you do.

Does that mean it's a book about being over fifty, independently wealthy, pursued by brilliant nubile women of various ages in a world of golf and college football where no one is homeless?

Play nice

Now, Kenny. Bob is increasingly congenial and he's doing a better job of trying to substantiate his posts with authoritative links.

He just doesn't know us very well yet :-)

I know, what's with all

I know, what's with all those? Lots of movies too.
I did enjoy the Jane Austen spoofs, even though the P&P zombies did get a bit tiresome. S&S seamonsters was more entertaining.
