WUOT has just begun its semi-annual fund-raising drive. In case you haven't noticed, Ann Lloyd, one of the station's most personable (and progressive) announcers, is no longer on board. She was apparently fired in February. The story is here.

I learned yesterday that Ms Lloyd has retained an attorney.

Maybe we should call the station at 974-5500 and, instead of pledging a few bucks, tell them what we think.

Does anyone, outside of a

Does anyone, outside of a predisposition to like or dislike either side in this dispute, know enough about it to actually take sides? As far as I've seen, the publicly known facts of the case are 1) Ms. Lloyd was let go, and 2) she says it's bogus. If one were to take a stance on the situation it would seem useful to know more about the particulars. Anyone?

aside from what you've mentioned, i don't know any of the facts in this case. i do miss ms. lloyd's presence on the station, but that's just a personal thought. i also know that the UT workers' union - UCW - is taking up the case, but again, i don't know the details.
