Seven years later the war quietly continues. Action has ebbed in Irag, being replaced with action in Afghanistan.

There have been 4,385 recorded deaths of US military personnel as a result of the Iraq War. The numbers are going down. However, the deaths as a result of the war in Afghanistan (Operation Enduring Freedom?) are increasing to equal the numbers from the Iraq War.

Isn't it time to bring our soldiers home?

vigil for peace

About 20 people showed up at the Vigil for Peace held at West Town Mall today, slightly fewer than last year. The event was appreciated by passing motorists, though, who overwhelmingly approved by honking their horns or giving thumbs up. I did note that traffic was down this year -- a rough estimate indicated about one-quarter the traffic of, say, five years ago. About two hours into the vigil, as people started to leave, the security folks from Simon decided to remove our signs planted in the strip of grass between the sidewalk and the street.

An interview with one of the peace activists will be aired on local television this evening.

uh no...

Not until we can find a way to keep Al Quida out.
The Taliban could have expelled Al Quida and prevented the war there. They chose not to so they are responsible for our being there.

Just what the hell did the Taliban and Al-Qaeda have to do with the invasion of Iraq?
